The Mkapa Foundation Board of Trustees, Management team and staff welcomed the Settlor of the Foundation H.E Benjamin William Mkapa on 22nd day of July 2015 to the 8th Annual consultative meeting/

The half-day meeting took place at White Sands Hotel in Dar es Salaam. It began with an internal meeting that comprised of the Settlor, Board of Trustees and the Extended Management Team members. During the meeting, the CEO of BMF, Dr. Ellen Mkondya-Senkoro presented the Institution’s achievements that were notable during financial year 2014/2015, and challenges, which are opportunities for development. The presentation, recognized the continued technical and financial support rendered by different partners that contributed to attain the goals defined in the national frameworks and BMF’s 5 years Strategic Plan.

It was underscored that the immense effort made during the reporting year was focused on scaling up existing projects that BMF have signed agreement with donors, creating new initiatives and business opportunities, as well as enhancing the Foundation’s sustainability plans and improving efficiency in its operational structure and systems.

Subsequent to the meeting, the Settlor joined the entire BMF staff for a get together lunch which was also linked with recognition ceremony for best staff performers and long term service awards. On this day the Settlor presented awards to the best employee of the year who is Ms. Hyasinta Stephen – the Office Management Assistant, and a Leadership award availed to Mr. Peter Mbago – Program Manager Health Workforce. Furthermore, the long-term service award went to Dr. Adeline Saguti Nyamwihura for working with the Foundation for 10 years.

In his greetings to the Staff, the Settlor congratulated the Board, Management and Staff for their dedicated hard work, which has contributed to the growth and increased credibility of the Foundation. He is pleased to be receiving positive feedbacks and compliments from government official and political leaders about the decent work BMAF is undertaking in the rural areas. He encouraged the BMAF team to sustain the integrity, commitment and valuable work they are rendering to fellow Tanzanians.
