BMF SUPPORT AIDS TRUST FUND MARATHON

In our continued efforts to strengthen the relationship with our stakeholders and support towards fight against AIDS, BMF sponsored the AIDS Trust Fund marathon which was organized by TACAIDS and AIDS Trust Fund and took place on 25th November 2017 with the aimed of raising Tshs 60 million to support the fight against AIDS in Tanzania.

Hon. Antony Mavunde, Deputy Minister in Prime Minister Office – Policy, Parliamentary affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled handing over certificate of appreciation to Deogratius G. Rimoy, BMF’s PR and Communication Officer for sponsoring the AIDS Trust Fund marathon which took place on 25th November 2017 in Dar es Salaam .

This 5km, 10km & 21km marathon was graced by Hon. Antony Mavunde Deputy Minister in Prime Minister Office – Policy, Parliamentary affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled as the guest of honor took place as part of the activities before commemoration of the World AIDS Day on every 1st of Dec. This marathon attracted participants from various sector within and outside the Government.

The AIDS Trust Fund was established in March 2015 through a parliamentary amendment to the Tanzania Commission for AIDS Act (No. 22 of 2001). The ATF complements existing HIV financing mechanisms by mobilizing, managing, and disbursing domestic funds to support a comprehensive national response to HIV and AIDS in Tanzania. In doing so, the ATF could help Tanzania build a sufficient and sustainable resource base, reduce new HIV infections, and help ensure that those living with or affected by HIV receive high-quality services
