Dear Stakeholders, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am writing at the gloomiest moment in the 14-years existence of the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation (BMF). As you are all rightly aware, we lost our Founder, Settlor and Tanzania’s Former President His Excellency Benjamin William Mkapa on the 23rd July, 2020, and laid him to rest on 29th July, 2020.
On behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of the BMF, we are sending our heartfelt appreciation for the thoughts, prayers and countless condolence messages we received from all of you within and outside the country. Your kind messages gave strong accent to the legacy of our farsighted leader – His Excellency Benjamin William Mkapa and consoled us in these trying times.
We are proud that at his death in his 81 years, His Excellency Mkapa life has touched and transform the lives of millions within Tanzania and beyond. So much has been done under his able guidance, watch and enabling pair of hands. We are grateful for the trust and confidence he bestowed on us and for the opportunity given to us to help translate his vision into action and his purpose into impact. We could not ask him for more. We only have much to give back to him by keeping his legacy alive and impact more generations to come.
We shall continue to remember him for his fine intellectual capability, strong personal values, firm decisions and his unwavering respect for humanity and dignity, which influenced immensely our values as employees of the Foundation. He will remain an inspiration to us and the successive generations of the BMF family. He will forever remain in our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace- Amen.
The Foundation will resume its full operations in the standard manner as from Monday 3rd August 2020 onwards, and we shall continue dedicating our time, ideas and expertise into programs that are geared towards improving health and well-being of our society.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
