The Mkapa Foundation is honoured to sustain our cooperation with the UNICEF at the Global and Country level offices. We believe your appointment is a reflection of the noble and historical milestones you registered as champion for social and economic global development at different capacities you have served within the public service, private sector, non-profit organization and philanthropic environment.

We are observing this historical moment with great enthusiasm of having a leader for an institution that fights for the rights of every child across the globe.

The Mkapa Foundation is a non- state Tanzanian Institution founded by the Former President of United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Benjamin William Mkapa in April 2006, with the major objective of complementing the national efforts in advancing the health sector development. Our vision is to be a hub of innovation for ensuring equitable, accessible and quality health services delivery in Tanzania. Our major key results areas which have registered success in Tanzania include, improved HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Reproductive Maternal and Newborn health services and addressing the Human Resources for Health crisis.

We hereby reiterate our commitment to continue reinforcing cooperation with the UNICEF, the Government of Tanzania, Development partners and Non State Actors in implementation of the National frameworks and the Sustainable Development Goals, focused on health sector.
