Specifically for the health sector he spearheaded the 1st Health sector reforms of Tanzania by enhancing Sector Wide Approach in programming and financing; establishment of the National Health Insurance Scheme and was a Champion of AIDS Free Generation, to mention a few. He further continued his service after Presidency by establishment of Mkapa Foundation which is committed to accelerate and attain health for all. The Summit is a unique opportunity to learn and \/or adopt from Mkapa&#8217;s legacy and to develop new ideas for addressing the emerging challenges facing Tanzania and the world today. The Foundation in collaboration with the Government of Tanzania have so far hosted three forums in July 2021, July 2022, and July 2024, which is intertwined with a National HRH Conference, as a pre-summit event. The demographic changes are critical to human capital development and countries&#8217; development prospects. Sustaining a robust and resilient health system is critical in combatting communicable and the increasing non- communicable health conditions\/diseases; ensuring national and global health security; adoption of fast-growing technology and Artificial Intelligence and on addressing the effects of Climate change on Health.
