This, in turn, would increase influence within communities and encourage citizens to enroll in universal health insurance.<\/span>\n\t      \t\t\t<button><a class=\"ova_button second_font\" href=\"#\" ><\/a><\/button>\n\t      \t\t<\/div>\n\t      \t\t      \t\t<div class=\"tab-item\" id = \"3\">\n\t      \t\t\t<span>Update the training procedures in the health sector to align with current trends, such as technological advancements and climate change.<\/span>\n\t      \t\t\t<button><a class=\"ova_button second_font\" href=\"#\" ><\/a><\/button>\n\t      \t\t<\/div>\n\t      \t\t      \t\t<div class=\"tab-item\" id = \"4\">\n\t      \t\t\t<span>Relevant government authorities and the Ministry of Health should expedite the finalization of sectoral guidelines and procedures for coordinating the employment of health professionals abroad. This includes preparing training programs and integrating them into the recruitment process to meet both national and international standards.<\/span>\n\t      \t\t\t<button><a class=\"ova_button second_font\" href=\"#\" ><\/a><\/button>\n\t      \t\t<\/div>\n\t      \t\t      \t\t<div class=\"tab-item\" id = \"5\">\n\t      \t\t\t<span>Establish clear strategies for continuing the use of long-term Community Healthcare Workers who do not meet the formal training requirements for certification as Community Healthcare Workers (CHWs).<\/span>\n\t      \t\t\t<button><a class=\"ova_button second_font\" href=\"#\" ><\/a><\/button>\n\t      \t\t<\/div>\n\t      \t\t      \t\t<div class=\"tab-item\" id = \"6\">\n\t      \t\t\t<span>The government\/Ministry of Health should regulate the use of systems for classifying and organizing staff based on specific criteria (e.g., WIZONI).<\/span>\n\t      \t\t\t<button><a class=\"ova_button second_font\" href=\"#\" ><\/a><\/button>\n\t      \t\t<\/div>\n\t      \t\t      \t\t<div class=\"tab-item\" id = \"7\">\n\t      \t\t\t<span>Ensure that the National Action Plan for Health Security and the Health Adaptation Plan for Climate Change H.E Mkapa, the Benjamin William Mkapa Foundation (BMF) has continued to honour the contribution of health leaders, innovators and community health workers that work in accelerating quality health services in the country. \nIn this year we are pleased to inform you that the BMF led the process and worked in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MoH), President\u2019s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), Ministry of Health Zanzibar (MoHZ), Regional and Council Secretariats and the Sahara Ventures to identify and propose three awards\n<br>The awards were handed over on 31st July 2024 by the Guest of Honor to the Legacy Summit that was Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, to signify and increase The program has contributed to a reduction in maternal and newborn mortality rates in regions where it has been implemented, including Mwanza, Geita, Mara, Shinyanga, Simiyu, and Dar es Salaam.\nAdditionally, the training has improved skills and knowledge in managing emergency obstetric cases, in caring for newborns, including premature babies, and how to feed them. The PMLS is a UNFPA-branded portable projector pre-loaded with training materials that build the skills of midwives and other health workers to manage the most prevalent causes of maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity. The ten multimedia modules contain animated content on postpartum haemorrhage, pre-eclampsia and eclampsia, obstructed labour, danger signs in pregnancy, essential newborn care and family planning. Since its inception in 2016, over 10,000 health workers mainly nurse-midwives have been reached using the PMLS in 45 implementation sites in mainland and Zanzibar.
