In Commemoration of world women’s Day 2019 with the theme “BalanceforBetter” The Benjamin Mkapa Foundation (BMF) celebrated the Day by visiting the Female admitted patients and the Female staff at the Mwananyamala Referral Hospital

As a special day for all women in the world, BMF shared a joy of women’s day celebration with some presents to the admitted Female patients and Female staff at Mwananyamala Hospital. “We wish all the Patients a quick recovery so that they can go back to their daily activities” BMF Human Resources Manager Eliot Mujumba said.

Mujumba highlighted that ‘one of the main agenda of Benjamin Mkapa Foundation is to promote health among the local community and based on that visiting the admitted patients and the Female staff that care for them here at Mwananyamala is our concern. “We all understand how important health is to the society. Benjamin Mkapa Foundation is happy to transform the health of millions of Tanzanians who have been touched directly”, he said.
He said that since the launch of the Foundation, Benjamin Mkapa Foundation has developed a continuous way of solving challenges affecting health in the country which has benefited a lot of women. ‘We have been able to offer employment to 1501 medical practitioners who have been deployed to rural areas, we have sponsored both male and girls’ students to pursue health studies and most important, we have constructed houses for healthcare workers and especially at health centers and dispensaries level in rural areas. In addition, we have been training health officials on delivery of health services to patients for both reproduction health and for HIV patients, Mujumba said.
Expressing her gratitude to BMF, The Healthcare worker at Mwananyamala Hospital, Mwanahija Dyamwale said they were grateful and honored for such a visit and recognition of their contribution to the society as women. .

We are happy with your donations which clearly shows how your care for our society. We thank you very much and welcome you once again in future, she added.
During the visit, the BMF donated some medical items including thermometers, BP Machines to be used at the women’s ward. A total of 100 women at the hospital both patients and healthcare workers on duty received sanitary pads and khangas

Women International Day is celebrated globally on every 8 March. It is a day for women to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
