Dr. Ellen Mkondya Senkoro: Chief Executive Officer
As the founding CEO of BMF, she provides stewardship and strategic leadership to the institution. A Medical Doctor and Public health specialist by profession with over 25 years' work experience, Dr. Ellen prior to joining the Foundation worked as the Program Manager with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), where she got exposed to policy, interface of national and international health agenda and the governance of health programs, particularly on Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS. Her working experience is well augmented by working as a clinician before ascending to the Municipal Medical Officer of a very dynamic Temeke and Kinondoni Municipal Councils. In her work, she has enforced partnership, policy dialogue and effective programming across Government, Donors and NGOs for health sector development.

Erick Mutabuzi: Head of Internal Audit.

Erick Mutabuzi is vested with responsibility of strategic assessment of internal controls and assuring the organizational processes are risk-management compliant. He has over 11 years of working and sharing his expertise in auditing, accounting, financial management and reporting. Before joining BMF, he worked with the National Audit Office of Tanzania (NAOT) as an External Auditor. He previously served as the Internal Audit Manager at Tujijenge Microfinance and as the Senior Internal Auditor to the Ministry of Defense and National Security. Erick is a member of the Tanzania Institute for Internal Auditors and has Mastered the Science (MSc) in Accounting and Finance and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management. He is also a Certified Public Accountant – Tanzania.

Rahel Sheiza: Director of Programs and Business Development
Ms. Rahel is in charge of strategic supervision of the organization’s programs and business development, progress, implementations and evaluation. She is a health system specialist with more than 15 years’ work experience on human resources and provision of technical advice in public health programming and business development for different organizations including BMF and the Government. Before joining Mkapa Foundation, she worked with Tanzania Meteorological Agency as a Senior Human Resources Officer and participated fully in restructuring process of the organization and preparation of HR frameworks. She has also worked with TechTop Consult Tanzania Ltd. Ms Rahel has Mastered the Science (MSc.) in Human Resources Management and a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration.

 

Erick Mwelulila: Director of Finance & Grants

With over 12 years’ experience in Financial Management, he provides overall Strategic Finance and Grants Management at the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation (BMF). Before joining the Foundation, Mr. Mwelulila served in various capacities as Director of Finance and Administration at Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC), Chief Finance Officer at Dodoma Christian Medical Centre Trust (DCMCT), Chief Accountant for Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) and as an Auditor with various Auditing Firms. He holds a MSc. In Finance, Bachelor of Accounting and Finance. Erick is an Associate Certified Public Accountant in Public Practices (ACPA-PP) and an Associate Professional Banker (ACPB). Mr. Mwelulila also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Economic Diplomacy. . 

Dr. Mussa Sylvester Ndile – Director of Strategy & Performance Management

Dr. Ndile is responsible for supporting the CEO in strategic management through the development of innovative tools, systems, and techniques. He has over 15 years of experience in public health practice focused on program planning, designing, implementation and management of public health initiatives in Tanzania. Before joining the Mkapa Foundation, he worked for various positions from different organizations, such as Deloitte Consulting Ltd as the Results Management Office Director for USAID Boresha Afya Southern Zone Program and Director of Field Implementation for TUNAJALI II Program. He conducted his clinical roles as a Medical Officer, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Songea Regional Hospital and Sumve DDH where he also served as the Medical Officer in Charge. From clinical practices, he then started a career in donor program management as a Clinical Advisor at ICAP and FHI360, Regional Program Manager with Deloitte Consulting Ltd and later as the Director. Dr. Ndile holds a Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Master Degree of Business Administration in Corporate Management.

Obedi Mrita: Head of Corporate Support Services Unit

Mr. Obedi provides strategic business support to BMF’s internal and external stakeholders by ensuring delivery of specialized technical and administrative support services to enable other functional groups to meet their work targets. He has vast experience working with International Organizations with more than 12 years’ experience in Human Resources, Operations and Facilities Management. Before joining the Foundation, he worked for various organizations, such as AMREF as Human resources and Administration Manager and Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation-Tanzania as Human resources and Administration Manager. Mrita, holds a Master Degree of Business Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree on Business Administration, Diploma in Human Resources Development and is also an Associate Certified Facility Management Professional (FMP-USA).
