Ladies and Gentlemen,
I take this opportunity to welcome you and thank each one of you, for taking time to participate in this well-organized Health Symposium by the Mkapa Foundation.
I also thank you for your commitment and partnership spirit, towards one common agenda of improving health status and well being of the people of Tanzania. I appreciate the dynamic deliberations and enthusiasm emanated from the discussions held here today. I believe through hard work, we will register impressive progress in attaining the national and global development targets that will lead us to successful socio-economic transformation towards achieving the status of a middle-income country.
I wish to congratulate the Board of Trustees, Management and Staff of the Foundation, for the complementary role that has a significant impact in the health sector programs. The Foundation must continue to be a trustworthy Tanzanian local Institution, to effectively supplement the Government and Partners’ efforts, in providing quality health services, particularly to the undeserved.
As the Institution embarks into its next 5 years strategic and business direction (2019-2024), I emphasize the need to maintain the track record of performance. It is my hope that the unique attributes will prevail within the Institution; to attract more partners, ensure growth and sustainability, so as to better serve the key stakeholders and beneficiaries.
After these brief remarks, I am now ready and willing to launch the 3rd BMF Strategic Business Plan.
Thank you for your attention.
