The Benjamin Mkapa Foundation (BMF) through ongoing Combination Prevention Campaign which started on 17th August 2018 in Arusha has currently reached 2987 people for HIV testing in Monduli Juu ward with a good turnout number of males 1781 (59.6%).
Speaking during Furaha Yangu Campaign Launching on 28th August 2018 in Arusha region, which carries a slogan of “PIMA, JITAMBUE, ISHI” David Magiri, BMF Regional Program Officer highlighted that BMF under TB/HIV project through AMREF aims to cover all 48 wards in Monduli and Ngorongoro districts through Combination Prevention Campaign whereby 2081 people are targeted to be reached for HIV testing in each ward.
“In three years of project implementation we will also take on board the mass media to promote behavioral change for cultural practices that are epidemic drivers for HIV prevalence in Arusha” he added.

Furthermore, The Monduli District Commissioner, Iddi Kimanta, who represented Regional Commissioner as a Guest of Honor for the Launching, insisted that the ongoing combination prevention campaigns should also consider in places with night gatherings to ensure the good turnout number of people for HIV testing especially males.
Among other services on the ongoing Combination prevention campaign are family planning services, diagnostic services for cervix cancer screening, TB & Sexual Transmission Diseases (STDs), checkups on blood sugar and pressure, condom distribution, entrepreneurship skills and distribution of information materials.

The Furaha Yangu Campaign has also been launched in Manyara Region on 29th August 2018 where BMF implement the same project intervention in Mbulu and Simanjiro districts.
