BMF was founded by the Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, the Late H.E. Benjamin William Mkapa, to contribute to a healthier, more prosperous, inclusive, and resilient society. We contribute to the reduction of the shortage of skilled healthcare workers through the evidence-based allocation of Human Resources for Health (HRH). We also work with key stakeholders to develop, pilot, and scale HRH financing options and facilitating through local solutions, coverage of community health insurance to accelerate equity and access to health services.
