Welcome to the WRAIR/BMF SIMS Project, a five-year initiative fueled by WRAIR/DOD, strategically located in the regions of Mbeya, Songwe, Rukwa, and Katavi. Dive into our commitment to the Monitoring and Management of Quality of Services, collaborating with PEPFAR-funded sites to ensure the delivery of exceptional HIV services in line with Tanzania’s national guidelines.

Discover the essence of the WRAIR/ BMF project, dedicated to supporting the WRAIR-Tanzania team in monitoring and managing service quality across facilities funded by PEPFAR. Utilizing the PEPFAR-endorsed SIMS (Site Improvement Through Monitoring Systems) tool, our mission is to uphold accountability and adherence to national guidelines and annual COP guidance.

Implementation and Beneficiaries:

Mkapa Foundation, under this five-year mandate (2020–2025), conducts comprehensive and follow-up SIMS visits to approximately 200 health facilities supported by the Henry Jackson Foundation in the southern highlands. Benefiting the health facilities in the regions of Mbeya, Songwe, Rukwa, and Katavi, our approach involves thorough assessments to identify strengths and challenges, ensuring the development and implementation of effective action plans.

Contributions to Service Delivery Improvement:

Delve into the significant impact of our project on enhancing access to quality HIV/AIDS services in the southern highlands. Through systematic quality improvement site visits, challenges related to service delivery have been identified, leading to the development of corrective action plans in collaboration with IP-HJF, resulting in commendable indicator performance to date.
