Strengthening Partnerships for Health Equity
On 4th December 2024, The Benjamin William Mkapa Foundation (BMF) had the honor of welcoming Ambassador Yasushi Misawa, the Japanese Ambassador to Tanzania, during an official visit to our offices. This momentous occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate the longstanding collaboration between the Embassy of Japan and BMF, which has been a cornerstone of impactful health initiatives since 2016.
During the visit, Ambassador Misawa engaged in meaningful discussions with Hon. Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of BMF, alongside members of the Foundation’s management team. These discussions centered on shared goals to improve healthcare systems and reach underserved communities across Tanzania.
Ambassador Misawa expressed his deep admiration for BMF’s achievements in the health sector. “The work of the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation is truly remarkable and has a transformative impact on the lives of Tanzanians. We are looking forward to enhancing partnership through this journey of attaining better health outcomes,” he noted.
Hon. Ambassador Mulamula highlighted the crucial role of the partnership with the Embassy of Japan in driving BMF’s mission forward. “The support we have received since 2016 has been pivotal in enhancing healthcare delivery, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas. We are excited to strengthen our collaboration to achieve even greater milestones,” she stated.
This visit reaffirms the shared commitment of BMF and the Embassy of Japan to sustainable development and health equity in Tanzania. Together, we aim to expand our reach and impact, ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing quality healthcare.
Ambassador Yasushi Misawa’s visit not only underscores Japan’s continued support but also inspires us to push further in our mission of transforming healthcare for Tanzanian communities.
