The National Human Resources for Health (HRH) Conference was back. In commemorating the legacy of His Excellency Late Benjamin William Mkapa – Former President of United Republic of Tanzania, the Benjamin William Mkapa Foundation in collaboration with Government of Tanzania hosted the National HRH Conference on 29th -30th July 2024 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania prior to the high-level Mkapa Legacy Summit on 31st July 2024.
The conference came at a crucial time, when a global shortage of Health Care Workers threatens healthcare access, especially in Africa. Tanzania faces a critical shortage of skilled health professionals, as outlined in the recent HRH profile, hindering the efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The 2nd National Human Resources for Health Conference was from July 29th–30th, 2024. This was a chance to be part of the innovative thinkers addressing Tanzania’s human resource gaps in health and driving a transformative process to attain a resilient health system for Sustainable Development.
