Target beneficiaries
- Local Government Authorities
- Health facilities
- The community (mothers and child)
Project implementation
The MFSP is a two-year program focused on reducing maternal and child mortality rates by developing a skilled and well-trained nurse-midwifery workforce. The scholarship will support 100 pre-service candidates from underprivileged and rural communities to pursue a one-year diploma program in Nursing and Midwifery at public training institutions. In its first year, the program supported 50 nurses from the Morogoro region, and in its second year, it will support 50 more nurses from the Mwanza region.
Area of Implementation
Currently, the program is actively implemented across all 8 Local Government Authorities in the Morogoro Region. In the future, the program will also be extended to the Mwanza Local Government Authorities.
