Governance Structure

The Settlor of the Mkapa Foundation is His Excellency Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council. He took over the settlorship after the passing of the first Settlor and founder, H.E. Benjamin William Mkapa.

The governance of the Foundation is overseen by a Board of Trustees, appointed periodically by the Settlor as defined by the Trust Deed. The current Board is comprised of eight members, and is led by a Chairperson, Dr. Adeline Kimambo.

The day-to-day management of the Foundation is coordinated and led by the Chief Executive Officer.
