Dr. Ali Salim Ali

Dr. Ali Salim is a Medical Doctor by profession, with a specialization in the clinical management of HIV/AIDS and TB. He has held various leadership positions in the health sector, including as the Executive Director of the Mnazi Mmoja Hospital, Executive Director of the Zanzibar AIDS Commission, HIV/AIDS/TB Capacity Building Specialist in Namibia, Safe Male Circumcision (SMC) MOVE Project Manager and HIV/AIDS National KITSO Coordinator in Botswana, and various positions at the Ministry of Health in Zanzibar, University of Zambia, and the Ministry of Health Tanzania mainland. Currently, Dr. Ali is the Senior Advisor-HIV/AIDS for the Zanzibar Association of the People Living with HIV/AIDS(ZAPHA+). He holds a Master of Philosophy in HIV/AIDS Management (Mphil) and a Postgraduate Diploma in HIV/AIDS Management (PgD) from Stellenbosch University (South Africa – 2013 and 2012 respectively). He has a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine (MMED) from the University of Zambia (2000), and a bachelor's degree in Medicine (MD) from Crimea State University (1991) Dr. Ali has published in various scientific journals in the areas of male circumcision, diabetes, non-communicable diseases, and infectious diseases like HIV, TB, and other pulmonary diseases.
