Dr. Maryam Amour

Dr. Maryam Amour is a physician-scientist and public health specialist with 10 years of experience, specializing in internal medicine with a focus on infectious diseases. She is adept in public health program management, strategy development, leadership, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, public speaking, strategic partnership, fundraising, and capacity building. Currently, she works as a lecturer and internal medicine specialist at the Department of Community Health and is also Head of the Internationalization and Convocation Unit of the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). She holds a Post Doctoral in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health (USA), a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from Muhimbili University of Allied Sciences (Tanzania - 2020), a Master of Public Health from Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (USA - 2015), and a bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Muhimbili University of Allied Sciences (Tanzania - 2011). Dr. Maryam Amour has published various scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, with the major topic covering Tuberculosis and HIV subjects. She is an awardee of different fellowships, research, and academic excellence. She volunteers with the Medical Women Association of Tanzania (MEWATA), and Women Action Towards Economic Development (WATED) organizations.
